Tell Your Retail Story - and Win Big!

Retail careers are as varied as the tens of millions of people in our industry. From marketing gurus creating the best holiday ads to tech geniuses designing the latest "must-have" items and small business owners who are at the heart of their local communities, the opportunities in retail are endless.

And, retail supports one in four jobs in the U.S. In other words, we’ve got quite a few stories to tell.

That’s where you come in. We’re looking for the most creative, insightful and thought-provoking retail stories in America that will demonstrate the opportunities in and the power of our industry. So find a video camera (or partner with a videographer), gather some inspiration, and tell us why “This is Retail”. You could win $25,000.

How to Enter

 
Tell your retail story in a video no longer than two minutes. Make sure your video includes the phrase “I'm [Name] and This is Retail”.

When telling your story, pick one of the following themes, and be sure to mention at least one in your video:
• Retail Powers America’s Economy
• Retail Is Main Street
• Retail Drives Innovation
• Retail Strengthens Consumers
• Retail Creates Opportunity
 
Upload your video between March 5 - 18 ( upload link will be available March 5).

The Details

To be eligible for the contest, you must be a current employee at or owner of a U.S. retail business and 18 years of age or older. Read complete video submission guidelines and a checklist of what to include.

All qualifying videos will be reviewed by a judging panel of retail executives, who will announce the top 20 videos on April 2. Those videos will be placed in a bracket-style tournament, with videos going head-to-head each week with other finalists. Individuals can vote up to 10 times per day for each match-up, and winners will be decided based on number of votes. When only five videos remain, the final videos will compete with each other and the top three videos will be announced.

Prizes

The top three finalists will be flown to Washington, DC in May, where the winners will be announced during NRF’s Washington Leadership Conference. At that time, the following prizes will be awarded:
